On a $100 bet that wins $50: $1.00 opening fee plus $5.00 performance fee is $6.00 paid, $0.21 back. On a $100 bet that gets liquidated inside 8 hours: $1.00 paid, 3.5 cents back. Rakeback is worth more to players who realize profit, because the performance fee is the biggest line on a winner.

No. The spread is built into the price you bet at rather than charged as a fee, so it is not in the base rakeback is measured on. Opening, holding and performance fees are.
